My Heartfelt Plea
The book I wrote, took me years to
research, and well over a
year to write. Despite this, I feel that there is so much more to be researched,
and added to the content. I spent
an average of 4 hours per day - every day, and years prior to that, collecting
and refining the concepts. To be honest, this was my life's work, which I am now
essentially giving away. The next step is too important though, to dwell on
that. If I can get a community of like-minded people together, we may be able to
structure a clean, easily understandable explanation of God, and our relationship
to him.
The ultimate focus here is, to make
God such a fact that when someone asks anyone, if they believe in God, the
answer will be "Of Course!" God will be so clearly defined as a fact, that to
not believe in him, would then be, like not believing in your government - you know it
exists, you just have doubts about it's methods and intentions. If we can get
people to that place, then it's a whole different ballgame - doubt of
intentions, not doubt of existence. (We'll work on the intentions issue
as we move along).
If you are interested in this topic
for yourself, or can see it as a resource to help others - please help me push
forward this effort. Maybe you'll be able to do something to help with the work,
or just want to help out financially. As they say; time is money, and in this
case money will translate to, time to do the work.
What I
am hoping to do eventually, is create a
Wikipedia style interface, with a great depth
of fact, as well as open discussion. The 'facts' that we've read or heard about
will be spelled out, torn apart and verified - or shown to be faulty. One of the
criteria will be, three independent sources for every 'fact'. Each point will
also have it's counter-point to allow for a balanced evaluation. As in science;
where everything remains a theory, and is open to discussion, until it's a law;
this will build facts, not stifle them.
The interface needs to be one that is
acceptable to scientists, yet appealing to the casual reader. A general review
of this site, should eventually be enough to answer most questions right away,
with a deeper and deeper depth, for those that are interested. This should not
be as unwieldy as it is now; a quick answer
should be easily found, with expanding resources available. For this, the Wiki
method seems to make the most sense. Unfortunately looking at the programs
available, it
seems like a daunting task, especially with my limited resources. If you can help
work that program, I would love to hear from you. This won't go far though, with
just the efforts I can apply.
As I said, I am selling the book, but want to make it available to as many people as possible. Because of that, I have discounted the price through this page to a donation of $10, or nothing if you can't afford the donation.
I feel
that if we can start an honest, fact based discussion about God, then maybe
we can open it up for the skeptics, the disenfranchised, and those driven to
apathy. I believe most people are interested in the truth, but just don't know
what can be trusted. This will be only about that search for truth, without bias
or concern for where the truth leads us.
